Virtual Assembly and Performance at SPAC

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 11, 2022

SPAC has teamed up with our partners at The Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet to bring a student-focused, educational, and entertaining video performance for teachers to stream for their students in lieu of an in-school presentation this year. After students have watched the virtual performance, they will be able to sign up online with a guardian to receive TWO free amphitheater ticket to come to SPAC this summer - one ticket for the participating student and one for an accompanying adult!! After coming to see New York City Ballet on July 16th or The Philadelphia Orchestra on August 6th, they will qualify for a free Student Lawn Pass.

*Specific programing to be announced this winter.

The SPAC Student Lawn Pass will grant the student, plus an accompanying adult, free lawn admission to all ballet and orchestra performances at SPAC until they graduate high school!

This program is only available to schools currently enrolled in the Classical Kids Program. If your school is currently not enrolled, please contact the SPAC Education Team at education@spac.org.

SPAC’s Classical Kids Program is able to serve schools located in the following NY counties: Albany, Essex, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Rensselaer, Warren,

and Washington.

Content will be available to stream on demand for the duration of either March or April depending on the program assigned to the school. The SPAC Education team will email a link to a password-protected page that will allow access to the Ballet or Orchestra virtual assembly.

Streaming content includes either:

  • The Philadelphia Orchestra Virtual Assembly

     OR

  • New York City Ballet Virtual Assembly

FIVE EASY STEPS TO PARTICIPATING IN THE VIRTUAL CLASSICAL KIDS PROGRAM!

1. REGISTER BY FEB. 11

First, you must register online for the virtual Classical Kids program. Due to limited ticket availability, SPAC will notify your school of whether you will be receiving the orchestra program in March or the ballet program in April.

2. WATCH

A week prior to the start of the viewing window, you will receive an email with the links to a password protected page containing one of the virtual assemblies, as well as a PDF to share with guardians, explaining how they can sign their student up for a FREE amphitheater ticket to the SPAC summer performance.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Each video will be available FOR 1 MONTH ONLY for you to stream in your school classroom and/or virtual classroom.

  • Students must attend the SPAC summer performance in order for them to qualify for a SPAC Student Lawn Pass.

  • The virtual performance link can be shared but only with other teachers in your district. If you know of other schools who would like to receive this program, please tell a teacher or administrative staff member from that school to contact the SPAC education department at education@spac.org. They will not be able to register online for the program until they reach out to us directly.

3. SEND TICKET ORDER FORM (PDF) TO GUARDIANS

Once your students have watched the Classical Kids virtual assembly, they will be eligible to order their TWO free amphitheater tickets to the summer performance at SPAC on either July 15th or August 6th. The ticket order form (PDF) can be found at the bottom of the corresponding password-protected webpage. Please download and send this PDF to guardians/students for ticket registration. Students must register for their free tickets by June 1, 2022.

4. DISTRIBUTE STUDY GUIDES
